In spite of turkey season -- looking for a turkey burger that's ACTUALLY flavorful? Then check out this recipe for Greek turkey burgers. The veggies in the patty help to keep this burger extra juicy and flavorful. Boost the flavor even more by adding hummus or cucumber sauce.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 1/4 lbs. ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup red onion, minced
  • 1/2 cup frozen spinach, thawed
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cucumber, sliced into rounds
  • Micro-greens OR lettuce to serve
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns

PREPARATION:

Combine ground turkey, red onion, spinach, garlic, lemon zest, oregano, salt, and black pepper into a large mixing bowl. Combine all ingredients until just incorporated and form into 4, 1/2-inch thick patties. Place patties in the refrigerator to chill.

Preheat grill over medium-high heat. Remove turkey patties from the refrigerator and place on clean grill grates. Grill for 5 minutes on each side or until cooked to 165 degrees. Remove burgers from grill. Assemble and serve.
