CHEFIT: Blueberry Pancake Smoothie

CHEFIT: Blueberry Pancake Smoothie

    Hey SHEFIT Sisters!

We have another delicious smoothie coming your way on this week’s episode of CHEFIT. Smoothies are a great way to refuel after those tough workouts and they are also family friendly. Especially today’s recipe, a blueberry pancake smoothie…YUM!

This smoothie just gets a little sweetness from pure maple syrup and blueberries, no excessive sugar here! Plus, it’s packed with protein from the milk and Greek yogurt so it will keep you fuller for longer AND help your muscles get that much needed nutrition after a tough workout.

The combination of prebiotic rich oatmeal teams up with the probiotic rich yogurt to help increase healthy gut bacteria. This healthy gut bacteria helps to keep our immunity high and our digestive health functioning at its best.

Trust me, you will WANT to drink this at least once a week!

    1 cup non-fat Greek Yogurt

    2 1/2 cups Blueberries, frozen

    1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

    Large Handful of Ice

    Preparation:

Blend all of the ingredients together, add ice as needed to thicken.

Recipe Tips: You can sub out plain Greek yogurt for vanilla Greek yogurt then omit the vanilla, this will just elevate the sugar content slightly.

Always use pure maple syrup! Those other bottles are typically just corn syrup and coloring which provide no nutritional benefits. Pure maple syrup contains some antioxidants.
