Hey SHEFIT sisters, welcome back to CHEFIT!

I’m super excited about this week’s episode because we’re mixing up our first smoothie recipe of the season! Smoothies are an excellent way to refuel after a hard workout. This smoothie recipe contains the perfect amount of protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins and minerals to help your muscles recover and become even stronger.

This week, we are blending up a very green smoothie. Beautiful to look at but even more fun to drink.

You would never even GUESS there’s kale in this smoothie. The natural sweetness from the pineapple and peanut butter take over to create this flavorful green smoothie.

Another great thing about this smoothie is kale's high Vitamin K content. Vitamin K plays a crucial role in bone health and cell growth. Both things that need extra special attention for people living an active lifestyle.

Let’s get our smoothie on!

Very Green Smoothie - Makes 1 large or 2 small smoothies

Ingredients:

2 cups lightly packed chopped kale leaves, stems removed

3/4 cup milk, any kind of prefer

1 frozen medium banana, 1-inch chunks

1/4 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt

1/4 cup frozen pineapple pieces

2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter

1 to 3 teaspoons honey

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in the blender and slowly add the milk until the desired consistency is achieved. Serve immediately.

Recipe tip: If you have overripe bananas, peel them then place them in the freezer for later use. Frozen bananas make a great base for most smoothies.

Thank you for watching this week's CHEFIT!

We’ll see you next week for more healthy cooking.
